Thank you for your inspirational presentation to the children. You could see how excited they were to see you again today and tell you how far into your books they are. Louise Dufty, Countess Wear Primary School

I just wanted to say a very big thank you for visiting Blackpool School in Liverton, Devon today.  Two of my five children attend the school and they came home absolutely 'buzzing' with enthusiasm about you and your books.  They are 8 and 10 years old and love reading, and I shall be putting in an order for your books on Monday.  I wish you the best of luck with your new venture and shall look forward to my children enjoying reading your books (to themselves and to us).
Kind Regards Jo Bayles

Dear David,
Sorry it has taken a week or so to email you, but I just wanted to say thank you very much for coming to visit the children at Hazeldown. We thought the showcase presentation was excellent and the hour and a half seemed to fly by as the children enjoyed it so much. It inspired them to read and gave them a really good insight into how an author thinks about a plot. Thank you once again and hope to see you again. Best wishes, Matt Dawes. Hazeldown Primary School

Dear David, Just wanted to say that my son Charlie Vickers Binns, from St John's Primary, was SO excited to meet you today and buy your 3 signed book copies.... He has been on the sofa since we got home engrossed in "The Curse of Pathylon' , and I've just managed to prise him off the sofa to bed at 8.50pm!  He LOVES your book.  Thinks better than Harry Potter!!!  SO thank you so much for visiting the school and inspiring the children.  He hasn't mentioned the words, Wii, Computer, iphone, once - Hooray for a good book to enthrall a young mind rather than electronic gadgetry.  We look forward to book 4.  Happy writing.  Thanks, a grateful parent.

Via a school website, December 2012 - Key Stage 2 at Sidmouth C of E Primary School were very privileged to have a visit from David Lawrence Jones, a published children’s author. He spoke to the children and explained where his inspiration for his books comes from (he first came up with many of the ideas at the age of 9!) and then used some of the children to act out the opening chapters of his first book, ‘Bradley Baker and the Curse of Pathylon.’ He returned to hold a book signing event and sold a record number of books to the children, so many in fact that he donated a full set of his trilogy to our school library for free! Since his visit, lots of enthused children have been spotted all around the Woolbrook Road site with their noses well and truly stuck into copies of David Lawrence Jones’s books!

“The book hooks you in! You don’t want to stop reading it!” Alisha Kay, 6M

I met the author inside the Frenchgate Shopping Centre at Waterstones in Doncaster. Amazing books and I didn't win the competition but it was fun entering it. You have got to try it on 29th October when the author returns to Waterstones Doncaster. It is fun and read his books! Thanks. Ellie Broadhead  from Doncaster

This is the second review from James, who met David in Waterstones at Cheltenham.
Comment: I really enjoyed reading Bradley Baker and the Amulet of Silvermoor. It was definately just as good as the first one. Once I'd picked it up I struggled to put it down again! It was highly entertaining but at the same time quite sinister and mysterious in places. I can't wait for The Pyramids of Blood to come out! Thanks. James from Cheltenham

Bradley Baker and the Amulet of Silvermoor (The Amazing Adventures of Bradley Baker) (Kindle Edition) An excellent introduction to what I am sure will become a best seller. The main character is sure to attract a following from young readers, imagining themselves performing the heroic fetes of Bradley. The book which is extremely descriptive, takes the reader through an enchanting world of exciting new creatures, some friendly and of course the prescribed 'baddies'. My son read the book and simply couldn't put it down. He had already read the first book and eagerly awaits the next installment.

Hello David its Samuel from the book shop... the book is so cool so far. It’s like a new Harry Potter for kids!  In the top right hand corner there is a volcano and your next book could be about it being made of gold or make lava made of gold and Bradley could go and get it and be followed by rock monsters and both his friends could go with him. It looks awsome :)  Samuel Robbins, age 9

Hi there, Listened to Radio Leeds, the show was aired on Monday 19th December. The interview was with Philip Howard Book Shop in Roundhay Leeds, the owner of the shop was recommending books for Christmas and Bradley Baker adventure books were highly recommended as a must have for Christmas. I purchased the first two installments of Bradley's adventures and my son was very happy with them!! Kind regards, Dave Thomas (Bradford)

From the moment I opened the book, I got gripped by the story and found it difficult to put down. The book captures you as if you're in the story yourself following the characters into their adventures. definitely a MUST read no matter what age as I have found that out myself. :-)   Lobke, age 30

"Thank you for putting my photo on your site. I enjoyed talking to the writer, David Lawrence Jones, and getting my books signed with a map. I have read the 1st book and I liked how everything linked together at the end and where ever I was I could not put the book down. I am looking forward to reading the next book over Christmas."

This review is from: Bradley Baker and the Curse of Pathylon (Amazing Adventures of Bradley Baker): 1 (Paperback)
I bought this book for my daughter. I had my doubts at first because I thought it was written with boys in mind, but she just hasn't been able to put it down. So I decided to read the first few chapters to find out why and I was instantly hooked. The style of writing in the book and the main character Bradley Baker remind me of stories I used to read when I was a child. It's good old fashioned adventure at it's best and I would recommend this series to anyone looking for a boy hero to replace Harry Potter! It's definately ideal for boys and girls alike and I will be ordering book two. I would also be interested to find out if there will be more books in the Bradley Baker series?

On the 28th of November, I'm off to Waterstones Torquay, to purchase a signed first edition of 'The Amazing Adventures of Bradley Baker' for my daughter, Roxzan.
After the author, David Lawrence Jones's introductory chat at her school and a reading from the book, Roxzan is intrigued and wants more! How can I refuse such a plea, especially as she has offered to keep her room tidy from now on!
